5 ways to streamline your tree mitigation plan workflow
A tree mitigation plan is mostly repeatable work. Here are five ways to cut the hours without cutting corners, so more of your time goes to the field and the calls that matter.

Decide once what every tree record needs, then collect it the same way on every job: species, DBH, condition, an accurate point, a photo. Do it digitally in the field, not on a paper form you decode later. Clean, consistent input is the thing that makes every step after it faster, and it is the cheapest fix on this list.

What slows a tree mitigation plan down the most?
The drafting and the do-overs, not the survey. Placing trees, drawing root zones, running the analysis, and rebuilding tables by hand is where the hours go, and it repeats on every revision. Fix that and the whole timeline shrinks.
Can I reuse data between projects?
Your templates absolutely: titleblock, tables, legend, report layout. Each site's inventory is its own, but the way you collect and format it can be identical every time, and that sameness is where most of the savings live.
Do these shortcuts replace the arborist's judgment?
No. They cut the busywork, not the decisions. You still call which trees are worth saving, how to protect them, and how to read the borderline ones. The point is to spend your time on that instead of on drafting.
Is a tree mitigation plan different from a tree protection plan?
